Boxes Of Flowers
FOR THE DESIGN OF MY FLOWER BOX I HAVE USED THE “CORBELLED FLOWER BOX” METHOD. TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DESIGN I HAVE INCORPORATED A CANTILEVERED WIDOW SITUATED ABOVE THE FLOWER BOX. BY DOING THIS I HAVE CREATED A RECESSED PICTURE FRAME SURROUNDING THE PLANTS WHEN VIEWED FROM INSIDE THE BUILDING (CREATING DEPTH AND PULL TOWARDS THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING. WHEN OUTSIDE, THE FLOWER BOX WILL BE SITUATED CLOSE TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE BUILDING.
FURTHER THOUGHT:
THE ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING SHALL BE UNDERCOVER THEREFORE PREVENTING THE FLOWER BOX FROM OBTAINING ANY RAINFALL. TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM I HAVE DESIGNED AND INCORPORATED A DRAINAGE SYSTEM THAT WILL COLLECT RAINWATER, STORE IT AND WHEN NEEDED IT CAN BE USED.
NOW WHEN LOOKING AT THE DRAWING YOU CAN SEE THAT I HAVE ATTACHED A WATER PIPE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CANTILEVERED WINDOW.
THIS WILL HAVE WEEP HOLES STRATEGICALLY PLACE ALONG THE BOTTOM LENGTH OF THE PIPE. WITHIN THAT PIPE YOU WILL FIND ANOTHER WITH SIMILAR WEEP HOLES PLACED ALONG THE TOP LENGTH OF THE PIPE. WITH SCREW THREAD CONNECTING THESE TWO PIPES TO ONE ANOTHER A TWISTING ACTION CAN BE USED TO ALIGN THE WEEP HOLES OF BOTH PIPES ALLOWING WATER TO PASS THROUGH AND ALMOST ACT LIKE A SPRINKLER SYSTEM ABOVE THE FLOWER BOX.
